Heathcote, nestled between the Goulburn Valley and Bendigo, is a premium Shiraz-producing area. The region's ancient volcanic soils, known as Cambrian earth, are deep red, rich in minerals, and have good water-holding capacity.

The first vines were planted by German immigrant, Henning Rathjen in the 1860s
The oldest Shiraz vines were planted in the late 1960s
